A CARRY-ON BAG
Want to pack a CARRY-ON instead?
First check your airline's website for exact size and weight limitations (are all different!) before you choose a carry-on bag.
-- PACK IT in 2 layers with shoes and heavy stuff on bottom, then pants rolled flat and rolled clothes on top of them, with toiletries or purses on top...follow this travel checklist:

  • Put shoes and other heavy items on the bottom (by wheels if able) so weight is distributed evenly
  • Wrap belts around the inner perimeter along the wall
  • Put socks and rolled undergarments in plastic bags and tuck them in the shoes or corners
  • Fold pants on their natural creases, laying the waistband on the left of the suitcase wiht the legs hanging over the right edge. Repeat this step, alternating sides.
  • Tightly roll the rest of the clothes and place in center of the folded pants so can roll pant legs over them later. Rolling clothes can reduce wrinkles and creates more space, plus layering dry-cleaner bags between clothes to help minimize wrinkles.
  • Bring the pants legs over the top so they're wrapped around the rolled items.
  • Finally, place toiletries, purses, other misc. articles or things you'll need right away on top for easy access.
