When I was young, my family always told me my hair was something to be proud of. When I reached high school, it caused me problems so I experimented dying my hair. As I have gotten older, I have realised that my red hair suits my complexion best and I have started to enjoy my hair colour again. I think being bullied because of my hair colour has made me into a more empathetic person.
I have no family members or other friends with red hair so it makes me stand out from the crowd, which I don't mind anymore. My friend is a photographer and she has used me and my dog (who is a border terrier with red fur) for shoots because the hair stands out well in photographs.
