Stereotypes About Red Heads
-- Here are some 'assumptions' or 'stereotypes' about red heads (gingers) that I've read or heard people say. I don't agree with all of them.
AN EXAMPLE is when one of my own red-haired daughters went to a new dentist. She was nervous, as many people are; but, when she got upset at the dentist's lack of sensitivity and not explaining procedures, he very quickly assumed it was 'because she was a redhead' that she got so upset! That just made it worse... (I was angry just hearing about it!) ANOTHER EXAMPLE by a reader -- "I am 24 years old and live in a small town. One woman I work with whom I am very close to said all her life in school all the redheads were very snobby and were know-it-alls and thought they were better than everybody else. I have looked all over for that stereotype, but never found it and never ever heard of that. She says she always had a hard time getting along with redheaded girls or guys. Has anyone else heard this stereotype?"
My Personal Opinion: I don't personally think their negative reactions are because of the redhead gene but because of how people single them out, etc. Are red heads unique, passionate, smart and creative? You bet!!!
