Sisters, sisters!!

Would you believe it?! Being the only redhead in this generation of the family (I'm a throwback to my grandparents) means that I'm constantly searching for other people's opinions or redheads.

I was teased for a lot of my childhood for being ginger, which I think is extremely common for the UK - kids here can be harsh! But as I've grown I've learned to embrace it. I've finally grown out the straggly blonde highlights and embraced my curls too, which was a huge step after years of trying to tame my hair!

People don't generally believe my sister and I are related until they see how we act! Her dark hair is lovely and smooth like the rest of the family and mine is crazy, vibrant and curly!! I've now learned to love it though!

Thanks Cee for submitting the great sisters photo to my site! You are both gorgeous. I'm sure it was a surprise when you were born, being the only ginger! ...just never know when those genes will show up I guess. I enjoyed reading your story and appreciate your honesty, especially about the teasing. When we lived in the UK many years ago, I didn't really understand how much more gingers were teased there compared to the US...and my own redhead daughter did get teased. Thankfully, red hair seems to be 'in fashion' in many places at the moment and for good reason! As a mom of redheads, of course I'm very proud and I think all redheads are a gift of God...!!:) Thanks again for sharing and please feel free to contribute to my other 'Chatterbox page' topics, as I'd be interested in what you have to say.
