My Redhead Aunt Florencie

by Deb

Aunt Florencie

Aunt Florencie

Her actual name was Florence, but was usually called "Florencie." She was born in the early 1900s in Denver, Colorado. She was my mom's redhead sister who unfortunately died early when she was just a young woman. My mom (who looks just like her) would share stories about Aunt Florencie when I was growing up, telling about how beautiful she was and her gorgeous auburn/red hair (and her heritage was Italian!)... wish I had a color photo but only have the black/white one. She was not the only redhead in the family, however!

I am a redhead with dark auburn curly hair. I too am of Italian heritage and my middle name is Maria Florence. Your aunt looks very beautiful in this picture.

Reply by Deb at RR: -- thank you for sharing your story...Interesting coincidence!! You sound lovely too.
