Fiery and outspoken and proud

by Kate
(Dee Why, Sydney, Australia)

I am not shy about saying my piece. I do live up to the fiery stereotype, but that is because my black-haired father is a typical outspoken Irishman (another stereotype) and my brown-haired mother's family came from the bush. People from the Australian bush are so blunt and outspoken they will never be hired as diplomats. I don't mind some of the stereotypes because they make us sound quite interesting.

Reply by Deb at RR: Hi Kate -- enjoyed reading your thoughts on the whole stereotype issue. I have been hearing more and more from Australians and is always a pleasure to hear their opinions. I was unaware of the bluntness and outspoken qualities you mentioned and found it quite interesting! Being a redhead certainly is never boring... Again, thanks for sharing and please visit again.
