Famous Scientists With Red Hair

Check out some of these famous scientists....

Charles Dawrin
Charles Darwin
(1809-1882) British naturalist. Famous for his theory of natural selection and book ’On the Origin of Species’. Per this watercolor by George Richmond of Darwin around 1840, shows reddish hair (and also a painting of Darwin at age 7 in 1816 shows reddish hair).
Christof Koch
Christof Koch
(born 1956) US neuroscientist, Professor of Cognitive and Behavioral Biology at Calif. Institute of Technology, plus other honors. Working on the neural basis of consciousness. Very colorful and interesting scientist. Seems to enjoy dyeing his hair colorful shades or orange / red. Other photos and interviews show him with brilliantly red hair as well! Just had to include him for that reason and the fun of it!
Galileo
Galileo Galilei
(1564-1642) Italian philosopher, astronomer, mathematician, and physicist. Considered the 'Father of Modern Science.' Reportedly a redhead and, per painting by Domenico Robusti in 1605, appears to have at least a reddish beard/mustache.
Tycho Brahe Astronomer
Tych Brahe
(1546-1601) Astronomer, alchemist, and Danish nobleman. Known for his accurate planetary observations, which helped develop equations for orbital mechanics (equations to describe planetary motion). This was vital in the development of space flight. He apparently accidentally lost the part of his nose and fashioned several fake ones of brass, silver, and gold. He is described as quite a colorful character with blue eyes, very red hair, mustache and beard and the shiny nose!
