To help, I've put together a little summary about some companies regarding makeup for red heads.

There are a few makeup companies out there that do specifically cater to redheads with their own unique products; some were founded by redheads. I've listed those first.

Next, there are other general cosmetic companies that have some products used with success by red heads and fair-skinned users. Those are listed also and more will likely be added down the road.

JUST FOR REDHEADS
Makeup JUST FOR REDHEADS One of the cosmetic companies founded by a gorgeous redhead named Paula Pennypacker. (Click here to read my INTERVIEW with Paula!) Mail-order makeup company. Apparently, she was unhappy with makeup choices for redheads and having to wear makeup that was essentially designed for dark-haired or blonde women. She went on to develop cosmetic products specifically for red heads and their unique beauty needs. According to their web site, they reach over 2 million customers worldwide in over 100 countries. One of the cosmetic companies that some redheads love and feel they have the best makeup products for their needs!
Products include: Extensive selection that includes foundations, mascara, brows, lips, concealers, brushes, nails, a few hair products and hair extensions, some skin care items, and accessories like makeup bags and brushes.

SIMPLY REDHEADS
Makeup JUST FOR REDHEADS Based in the United Kingdom but ships worldwide. Founded by a natural redhead / ginger entrepreneur (Zoe). The company sells organic makeup and natural hair products supplied by NVEY ECO, an award-winning supplier of organic cosmetics.
Products include: Shampoos, conditioners, makeup (eyes, face, lips), and gift packs.

DAINTY DOLL
Makeup JUST FOR REDHEADS. One of the newer cosmetic companies -- The makeup products were launched by singer Nicola Roberts (member of pop group "Girls Aloud"). [Read about Nicola on my site], According to her website, the products are "designed for pale-skinned women."
Products include: foundation, concealer, eye shadow and base, plumping gloss, and blush and contour.

Website: Her website states these products can only be bought from Asos, an online shopping website - www.asos.com (search for 'Dainty Doll').

REDHEADS FANCY
Makeup JUST FOR REDHEADS. Has a small web site. I have NO experience with this cosmetic company or knowledge of their quality so feedback would be appreciated. (One reader shared there were problems with the 'Order Page' so be CAREFUL as could be security issue there.) Have some cosmetic sets of lipstick, lip liner, nail polish selected according to eye color.
Products include: lipstick, lip pencil, nail polish, mascara, eye liner, brow tint, eyeliner, eye shadow. Not see any foundation or other beauty products on their web site.

EVERYTHING FOR REDHEADS Founded by 2 lovely mother-daughter team, Jennifer and Jessica.
Makeup JUST FOR REDHEADS. (Click here to read my INTERVIEW with the co-founders, Jenn and Jess!) Their website's mission: "to make a website that gives Redheads what they want. Whether you’ve been a Redhead since birth, or a Redhead by choice, we have a number of products such as redhead shampoo & conditioners, cosmetics and much more!" They try to find, review, and resource products for redheads and people with pale skin specifically in the UK and Europe, plus discuss topics related to being a redhead.
Products include: makeup, hair care, gifts, advice and tutorials, miscellaneous news and tidbits about redheads.

MARY KAY
One of the cosmetic companies that's been around a long time -- nearly 50 years -- and sells products through Independent Beauty Consultants worldwide. Begun by Mary Kay Ash, one of America's top female entrepreneurs.
Info for Red Heads: Fun Virtual Makeover that is neat. Go to their web site Home Page and click on the box 'Free Mary Virtual Makeover' that downloads in a few seconds. Then on bottom right choose a model that fits your skin and hair color. Scroll the model pictures to the far right and the next to last model is a redhead with greenish eyes. Choose her. You can then play around with lip colors, eye shadow, etc. I found it fun and helpful. Would be nice if had more obvious redhead models, but not bad.

CLINIQUE
One of the cosmetic companies known as being 'allergy tested and 100% fragrance-free'
Info for Red Heads: On their web site home page, click on Tab 'Makeup' and go down to 'Foundation' and then the purple words 'Foundation Matcher' are on screen. Click the 'Start Now' button and it asks you questions about your skin to customize your foundation. When you get to the skin tone bar, click on the lightest skin tone and a redhead model does come up you can choose. It then customizes based on what answers you chose. Some swear they have the best makeup.

COVER GIRL
Obviously one of the mega-huge cosmetic companies that has a huge line of products.
Info for Red Heads: Also have virtual online color match feature to use one of their online models or can upload you own photo to 'try on' makeup shades. On Home page, choose either 'What’s New' or 'Connect with CG' drop-down menu and choose 'CG Makeup Mirror' and then click on words 'Try on Shades Now.' Takes you to screen to Log In with e-mail and password. If you want to see what this is all about first, click on words to right 'Watch how it works!' It walks through the features and then you have the option of signing up or not.- Their drop-down menu with 'Nightime Looks' and 'Daytime Looks' has a 'before' and 'after' photo of an auburn redhead and recommendations and to try it on with 'CG Makeup Mirror.'-- Read a tinted moisturizer product review submitted by a reader.
Products include: Foundation, powder, concealer, brushes, bronzers, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lip products, nail polish and more.

BONNE BELLE
Mostly lip products but fun and some gals feel they have the best lip glosses.

PHYSICIANS FORMULA:
One of cosmetic companies that produces makeup free of harsh chemicals so is a nice choice for some with sensitive skin.
Info for Red Heads Had a pretty redhead model on home page so made me smile. Plus, under 'Products' drop-down menu choose 'Mineral Wear' line and 'Organic Wear' choices for sensitive skin there were other pretty redhead models when I looked. That Organic line looks interesting.

CHANEL
Info for Red Heads: Nothing seen specifically for red heads but some use it and feel they have the best makeup foundations. Expensive. Sold worldwide. Do have some interesting videos on their web site on Drop-down menu 'Makeup' and then 'Application Videos' for some of their products for Face, Eyes, Lips.

AVEDA
Info for Red Heads: Nothing specifically for red heads on web site but some red heads use their makeup. One of the cosmetic companies selling botanically, or plant-based, beauty products that are sold worldwide. Could be the best makeup product for you if you prefer plant-based cosmetics.
They claim their hair dyes are up to 99% free of chemicals.

According to Jack Paitaridis (Elysian Hair and Day Spa owner, who uses Aveda), "The red dyes are about 97% chemical-free. The 3% is to open up the cuticle and penetrate the colour through. Natural organically-derived ingredients like green tea, jojoba, lavender, and castor oil act as buffers and protect the hair." Paitaridis also says that because Aveda dyes are customized rather than "pushed out of a tube," no 2 results are the same.

L'OREAL:
Again, another one of the worldwide cosmetic companies featuring a wide range of beauty products. Included in the company is Maybelline New York that caters mainly to the masses with more affordable products.
Info for Red Heads: At www.mabelline.com there is a 'Color Advisor' that walks you through skin shades and eye color, plus product preferences and then selects one for you based on your answers. A drop down menu 'Video Gallery' has some models on location and how their makeup was done but no red heads this day unfortunately.
Products include: for face, eyes, lips, nails, and accessories.

BARE MINERALS
By Bare Escentials, the cosmetic company that started the mineral makeup fad. Made of 100% minerals and has SPF 15. They advertise it's good for sensitive skin, scars, blemishes, rosacea, allergies, pigmentation, and wrinkles. Like several cosmetic companies, it was started by a woman with a great idea.
Info for Red Heads: On their web site Home Page choose drop-down menu 'By Skin Type'. Also, 'Your Stories' , By Skin Shade or By Skin Type has fair skin story of a redhead. The makeup comes with 2 different foundation shades and have a very light Fair shade that could work. Recommended by Skin Cancer Foundation, as posted on their web site. Was initially the only and probably the best makeup as far as mineral cosmetics but other competitors have since started up and allows some comparison.
Products include: Originally just foundations and brushes but now has products for eyes, lips, concealers, blushes, some moisturizers, and more.

PUR MINERALS
Also mineral makeup but known for their pressed mineral makeup with added vitamin D and shea butter to the foundation that’s not as messy like mineral powders.

According to their website "Sephora is the leading RETAIL beauty chain in Europe and are now in US." Like an online store with many different brands to choose from.
Info for Red Heads: Nothing specific listed but do carry a very LONG list of beauty product brands (not just their brands) from all over the world to suit just about every need. My own redhead daughters like ordering their products, suggesting you visit one of their retail locations if you live in a bigger city or a makeup counter where you can try brands first...then order from Sephora online to save money. Also have nice new feature called "Ratings and Reviews" for customer feedback on products.

ALMAY
According to website, the cosmetic company started in 1930 to develop pure gentle cosmetics, compared to the harsh makeup used in that day. They were the "first hypoallergenic cosmetics brand plus the first brand to make 100% fragrance-free products, to disclose all ingredients used, to perform safety testing for allergy and irritation, to formulate for contact lens wearers, and to create regimens for specific skin types. Almay is so stringent that fewer than 100 of the 10,000 new ingredients available for use in cosmetics meet Almay’s superior standards."
Info for Red Heads: Nothing specific, but on their website 'Search' window, do type in ‘fair skin’ and some suggestions do come up. No redhead models specifically. Good products for those with sensitive skin or with allergies to certain ingredients.

URBAN DECAY
Started in 1998 by some creative young people with an eye for adventure and the unique to create innovative makeup. Website says "Beauty with an edge to fashionable men and women everywhere." Their advertising says a little goes a long way due to it’s high quality. Their ingredients are listed on the website for people with sensitive skin people and vegans who need to know that info. New trend-setting cosmetic company with interesting products.
Info for Red Heads: Nothing specific seen but LOTS of edgy unique creative products to choose from!
Products include: Eyes, lips, face, body, tools, gift sets, vegan items, best sellers, and new items.

BENEFIT
This cosmetic company started in 1976 by twin sisters Jean and Jan Ford. Their website says of them, "Who says makeup has to be serious to be good?" with a "double dose of wackiness" with their makeup tips and fixes. They say it's the "friskiest luxury brand" sold worldwide. They advertise their ‘brow bars and boutiques and counters’ for gals to drop in unannounced to try their products firsthand.
Info for Red Heads: Nothing specific but a lot of fun products to check out.
Products include: Makeup, skin & body care, plus a fun ‘Beauty School’ on their unique website with nice makeup tips and tricks.

Worldwide premier makeup and beauty products. High end, expensive.

According to Lush, they have 'fresh handmade cosmetics' and their philosophy is: 'use fresh ingredients (organic fruits and veggies), make products by hand, protect the planet, no animal testing, and support the community.'
Info for Red Heads: Nothing specific but a lot of fun products to check out. My redhead daughters have used some of their beauty products and like them.

DELUSH
Not just one cosmetic company but a collection of 'reviews of hot products and trends,' 'honest and relevant reviews' of many different products and cosmetic companies.
Info for Red Heads: People reveiw products and on the home page there was a lovely redhead 'Jamie' who talked about items she liked. Lot of forums and input by many different people on many different products and cosmetic companies.
Products include: Their cosmetic reviews include blush, bronzers, concealers, eyebrows, eyeliners, eyeshadoews, foundations, lip products. They also cover skin care, fragrance, and hair care products in their reviews and favorites.

NEUTROGENA
Neutrogena, advertised as ‘dermatologist tested’ and '#1 dermatologist recommended’ products. It started as a small cosmetic company in 1930s called Natone. However, in 1954 the founder, E. Stolaroff, discovered a high-quality transparent soap bar that leaves no soap residue and returns skin to its normal pH. The soap was developed by a Belgian chemist and Stolaroff imported it under Neutrogena brand. The benefits of the soap were marketed to the medical profession and many dermatologists recommend it. In 1994 Neutrogena was acquisited by Johnson & Johnson. Info for Red Heads: Nothing specific for red heads but recommended by dermatologists and have many products for sensitive skin, hypoallergenic, and dermatologist tested.

One of the cosmetic companies that's been around 'forever' -- The company has been a leader in cosmetics for the last 60 years, founded in 1946 by a woman who believed 'every woman can be beautiful.'
Info for Red Heads: Nothing specific for red heads but wide range of products. Website that has some nice features. The 'Makeup' tab has a feature called 'Foundation Finder' that walks you through 6 skin shades to choose from (very light/fair as for redheads to very dark); then choose your skin undertones (3 choices); then coverage preferences of sheer, medium, full; then skin type of dry, normal/combo, or oily. Then recommends a product. They have a 'Live Chat' option as well for additional advice, but I haven't tried it. Also a handy 'Looks and Tips' tab that has Tips and Techniques plus HOW-TO Videos that are fun to watch.

Started by Bobbi Brown, a professional famous makeup artist, creating her own lipsticks in 1991 that grew into products that were natural, simple, flattering, and wearable. Her website quotes her saying "Beauty isn't about looking perfect. It's about celebrating your individuality." - to enhance your unique beauty. Website has fun 'Learn' tab with nice 'How-To' videos to watch.

Merle Norman cosmetics have been around for many years, offering business ownership opportunities called Studios (franchises), offering quality products, and one of the cosmetic companies consistently ranked the #1 cosmetics franchise in Entrepreneur magazine.

Kate O'Brien started Alima Pure in 2004, growing from a cottage industry to a multi-billion dollar business. Her daughter was approaching the age to wear makeup, but Kate saw that conventional cosmetics put in toxins and irritants. So Kate (an artist) "..set out to make a line of completely safe, 100% pure mineral pigment makeup.." Their website states that "women in more than 45 countries wear Alima Pure" and continues to grow! Products are cruelty-free and made beyond European Union standards (which are more stringent than the USFDA rules). Also have a newsletter as well. Read a product review by one of my readers.

Begun in 1997, they've become one of Australia's leading cosmetic brands and are owned by one of Australia's leading manufacturers of cosmetics. Their products are specifically researched and designed for Australian consumers, plus Australian made and owned and 100% against animal testing.
