Cartoon Characters With Red Hair

Cartoon characters were traditionally drawn by hand, but now the trend is computer-generated cartoons.

The cartoons listed appear in animated films or TV series, but many also have their own comic books and/or also appear in comic strips. There are actually quite a few characters that are red heads (gingers) with red hair or red fur. Unfortunately, due to strict copyrights on their images, the actual cartoon character may not be shown, however.

Anne of Green Gables: The Animated Series (series)	Based on books of the same name about redhead girl, ‘Anne Shirley’, and her adventures growing up and dealing with being a redhead (ginger). Has 3 redheads: -- Anne Shirley - The main character, a cute red-haired girl -- Bailey - In the animated series – a mischievous red squirrel and friend -- Dryadd - In the animated series - Orange wood nymph
Arthur (series)	PBS American and Canadian educational TV series for kids. About an 8-year-old aardvark named Arthur Read, family, and friends. Based on popular ‘Arthur’ by Marc Brown and is a favorite of 2- to 11-year-olds. Has 2 female red-haired characters: -- Sue Ellen - Has pointy cat ears and curly pig tails/dog ears -- Prunella - Has pointy face and short curly red hair
Arthur and the Invisibles (movie)	Fantasy movie that combines live actors and animation, based on a book by the director/screenwriter Luc Besson (and Celine Garcia) called ’Arthur and the Minimoys’. About a young boy who enters the world of elves. These best-selling childrens’ books are available in multiple languages. The cartoon characters with red hair include: -- Princess Selenia - Beautiful redhead elf princess, daughter of the King of the Minimoys. -- Prince Betameche - Redheaded younger brother of Selenia. Bambi (movie)	Cute white-tailed deer, from the Disney movie production ’Bambi’. Bambi's character varies a bit on coloring, varying from brown to auburn/brown but with a tuft of reddish fur on his head. Depends on what photos/posters you see.
Beauty and the Beast (movie)	From Disney’s movie 'Beauty and the Beast'. The Prince (AKA, The Beast)’ – when the Beast changes back to human form, The Prince has red hair at the wedding of Belle and the Prince.
Bugtime Adventure Series (series)	In Christian stations and bookstores, on DVDs. About cute insects and their adventures with Bible stories. -- Iggy - a bee with orange fur parts -- Gina - red and black ladybug
Clifford the Big Red Dog (series)	Clifford - A big red dog named 'Clifford' who was the runt of the litter; from an American children’s book series and later a PBS TV series cartoon character.
Cats Don't Dance (movie)	Danny - A orange-red cat who wants to be in show business, from the animated film ’Cats Don’t Dance’.
Cinderella (movie)	Anastasia Tremaine - She's one of the uncaring stepsisters from Disney’s classic animated film ’Cinderella’ and has red hair.
Dave the Barbarian (series)	Animated series on the Disney Channel with several cartoon characters with ginger hair: -- Throktar - King of Udrogoth and father of Dave, Fang, Candy -- Glimia - wife of Throktar with deep auburn hair -- Princess Candy - helps rule the kingdom of Udrogoth -- Fang - Dave’s little sister, wears a red pony tail
Ducktails/Darkwing (series)	Fictional 'duck universe about Disney characters Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck, the nephews, and others in Duckburg and other locations. -- Launchpad McQuack - with red hair, this duck first appears as Scrooge's goodhearted pilot in DuckTales and later as Darkwing's sidekick in spinoff Darkwing. -- Gosalyn Mallard - the spunky redhead 9-year-old adopted daughter of Darkwing Duck. -- Gyro Gearloose - a red-haired chicken, Duckburg's famous absent-minded inventor seen in the Scrooge McDuck universe and DuckTales, also appearing in comic book stories with Donald Duck and Scrooge.
Ebb and Flo (series)	A Noggin animated series about a family living in a boat on the river. -- Ebb - A loving reddish/orange dog and best friend of Flo. -- Flo - The 5-year-old owner of her dog and best friend, Ebb. Flo has very curly orange-red-brown hair. They live on the river in a boat with Flo’s mom.
Finding Nemo (movie)	Animated 2003 film by Pixar and Disney Pictures. Obviously these marine cartoon characters don't have hair/fur but are ginger nevertheless: -- Nemo - orange-red Clownfish, main character who gets ‘lost’ -- Marlin - Dad, also a Clownfish
Foghorn Leghorn	Foghorn - A wonderful cartoon character who is a large mischievous, wise-cracking, red-topped adult rooster with southern (US) accent, seen in Warner Bros. cartoons ‘Looney Tunes’ and ‘Merrie Melodies’
Friends and Heroes (series)	Christian cartoon series, seen on Christian stations and has website with free coloring sheets. There are several redhead cartoon characters: -- Antonius - An 11-year-old with red hair and freckles, whose father is in the Roman army (seen in series 2) -- Aemelia - An pretty adult woman with long red hair who was once an Amazon gladiator and now has a school for gladiators (seen in series 3)
Futurama (series)	Philip J. Fry - A redhead character in the animated US science fiction sitcom ’Futurama’, by Matt Groening. The main character, Philip, is a lazy, immature redhead boy who was a New York pizza delivery boy who was accidentally cryogenically frozen in 2000 and then thawed out on New Year’s Eve 2999. Show is full of satire and parodies and probably rated TV-PG14. Parental guidance here.
