Anne of Green Gables Auctions

Anne of Green of Green Gables is the wonderful redheaded fictional character (Anne Shirley) in the entertaining books by author L.M. Montgomery. The books are full of the humorous exploits of this red-haired orphan, who is adopted by an older couple. 'Anne of Green Gables' is the 1st book in the series.

Plus, there’s also a wonderful DVD series based on the books produced by Canadian TV some years ago starring actress Megan Follows (read about Megan on my ‘Famous Actresses’ pages). Our family LOVED these (especially my redhead daughters!) and are highly recommended.

Here are several excerpts from the books --

"You'd find it easier to be bad than good if you had red hair," said Anne reproachfully. "People who haven't red hair don't know what trouble is." (by character Anne Shirley speaking to her guardian Marilla in book)

"Gilbert reached across the aisle, picked up the end of Anne’s long red braid, held it out at arm’s length and said in a piercing whisper: 'Carrots! Carrots!'...And then -- thwack! Anne had brought her slate down on Gilbert’s head and cracked it---slate, not head---clear across!..."

ALSO -- "Anne Shirley dolls" are also being produced and great for collectors or little redhead girls out there. TO FIND DOLLS: Just type in 'Anne Shirley doll' in the eBay Search box below. Or, click on any eBay item below and go to the "Dolls,Bears" category and again type in 'Anne Shirley' or 'Anne of Green Gables' to narrow it down.
