-- ADVICE DEALING WITH TEASING --

(Go to form below to share how you handled teasing.)

My advice is to realize the person doing the teasing is "a dolt"
Laughter is the best medicine!
Realize this is who you are, special and unique, and it's a lifestyle no one else gets to walk in.
Today, I can proudly walk in a crowd knowing that I am beautiful.
If I had only felt this way when I was growing up. But now I do, and I am proud to be a redhead.
I used to get bullied all the time but that soon stopped when I grew over 6".
The worst of the names I was called was "Red head freckled fried freak." Other names I was called were "Pippy" and "Wendy's" and later I was told I looked like Molly Ringwald. The name calling didn't bother me that much, because I always liked my hair color and I received more compliments than insults.
As a redhead, that my world was more colorful than blondes or brunettes.
I reminded myself I’m not what they say I am. They don’t know me.
They’re [the teaser] the one with the problem, not me.
I am special, not just because of my hair, but it's helped.
Was teased when I was young, but now is one of my favorite physical features!
Growing up, being a redhead was a curse! It certainly made me a stronger person! Now, I finally appreciate it and wouldn't trade being a redhead for anything!! I always tell kids with red hair how pretty their hair is and to be proud of it!
I now love being a redhead.....I’m fiery, I'm passionate, and I'm original.
I enjoy being one of that 5% of the population and always have!
I’d get angry, go home and have a good cry, talk with Mom. Was hard though but later realized how beautiful I am.
I found a friend who wanted red hair like me because thought it was so pretty. We became close and had good times together. It made the mean comments seem not so important.
My advice? Find some friends who like you and ignore the stupid people.
[regarding teasing:]It was that adversity that made me so successful in my life. It made me a leader, not a lemming.
I have recently grasped how unique and special that I am. Now I realize how special that I am and would not change these special qualities for anything. Being normal is boring, and I am far from boring.
Now I love compliments about my hair.
[teasing]certainly made me a stronger person!
It was weird growing up -- kids my age thought my hair was ugly, but adults loved it.
